SUNLIGHT PRISMS
(Or…the Colorful Spider Web)
Spider webs over camera lens,
In sunlight toward rainbows bend…
Mini prisms’
Cataclysms
Natural light into rainbows rend.
–
Camera lens with diamond glow.
Double imaged layers show…
Sunlight bends
On the lens,
As a ray is caught and slows.
–
As the sun sinks slowly down,
Spiders lose their multicolored gown…
Unlit webs disappear
As they are much of the year,
Waiting for prey found.
–Jonathan Caswell
I have a spider that disappears during the day and returns every dusk like clockwork. On my balcony sliding frame. I have named Charlotte. Yes, not original but I like it.

I don’t have names for our spiders—too many of them!!! But really a pain when the web and/or prey blocks a good view from that CCTV camera!
