Giving a Piece of My Broken Heart


Turning ordinary into extraordinary

Recently I came across interesting advice. The advice was, when you feel brokenhearted, when you have been hurt, or when you feel like you have nothing left to offer anyone, the solution is to give.

What does this mean? Well, often times when we are discouraged or we have been let down by someone or something, our instinct is to withdraw. We shut down so that no one and no thing can penetrate our defense and hurt us again. We stop caring, because if you don’t care about something that has the potential to hurt you, it can’t hurt you. If we don’t allow others into our lives, then they can’t make us feel bad when they leave us.

This is not the right answer. I know, it’s easier said than done. When we shut ourselves off from people, we truly hurt ourselves and maybe even others. The way to…
