(VERY) EARLY MORNING PROGRESS…

Couldn’t sleep—what a shame–

Had playtime to reclaim…

Three or more tries

Under night skies,

But with a clearer brain!

He completed reconnecting

Both spur and runaround track connecting….

All rail joiners fit

He was done with it,

Couldn’t test with the power pack defecting!

Musical power packs,

Changing over to  power tracks…

When he’s done

both layouts’ll run,

He’ll go on to more creative acts!

GINGER TABBIES STILL RULE!!!

Screen saver—what does he choose…

A ginger tabby to vanquish his blues,…,

Can;t have any more

Cat scratches infect more,

But his memories–those he can use!

Puss Cat, Ginger and Balim,

All names chosen at whim…

The first two

His wife and he knew,

But he grew up with With stubborn Balim!

Balim Yalson Caswell,

The Yalson’s had to back in Turkey dwell…

Our family

Adopted Balie”,

Every year about their cat…we would tell!

Balim, although gradually b lind,

Was as stubborn as his Caswell kind…

Went where he pleased

His last mouse wasn’t teased—

But ignored it–was it not on his mind?

Jonathan Caswell

Picture is representative of his  many ginger tabby cats!

PRAISE GOD MOST HIGH FOR ANSWERED PRAYER

Praise to you, God Most High,

For hearing prayer on the fly…

And your delight

Being quiet in your Sight,

Bringing us into your Light.

You would talk with us,

Yet we put up the fuss…

Ne’er slowing down

Nor coming around,

In ways that are not just!

Walking with your children in gardens,

Seeing our eyes at Thee widen…

drying our tears

and calming our fears,

Joy at mutual abiding!

We don’t model for kids,

the closeness and joy you give…

But stay away–

Asking others pray–

Misunderstanding God’s writ.

Pray for me, said like Simon,*

The sorcerer on his own ladder climbing…

Unwilling to claim

Given to him in God’s name,

What Christ, without his help, did buy for him!

–Jonathan Caswell

IMAGE UPGRADE

He hopes he’s not ingenuous,

His time each evening tenuous…

has been uploading

Bicentennial railroading,

found some Header Images stupendous!

Honoring July fourth,

By patriotic train cars of course…!

His N scale uses

Bicentennial cabooses,

To which the “seal” says, “ORT-ORT!”

Fancy red-white-and-blue,

Appears on bikinis too…

But this year

Railcars are dear,

So them you have to view!

THE VITREO-RETINAL ASSOCIATES** STAFF

The V.R.A.** clientele,

Like Diana are treated well….

Diatated to treated

We’re pleasantly greeted,

It’s customer service they sell.

Managing efficient care,

As patients move chair-to-chair…

Each conducts

Themselves with facts,

Showing if we’re getting somewhere!

The gals at the front greeting desk,

Check status of every guest…

Beautiful smiles

Trim paperwork piles,

tto a size that is best!

Nana and the women within,

Where documentation comes in…

Check history

And ability,

To see since the last visit in.

V.R.A.** dedication

To each patient’s situation….

Is very apt

In relieving handicapped,

Vision from further disintegration!

Doctor defrin’s name still appears—

He treated my wife for years–

On the name b oard

Many eyes he restored,

Has retired with a full and rich career!

–Jonathan Caswell

Dedicated to the staff and doctors of Vitreo-Retinal Associates, for their fine work, pleasant manner and especially how they have treated the author’s wife, Diana, with all their kindnesses over the years!

Please note—that this is an unsolicited testimonial.

FASHION IS FABRIC AND STYLE

(Image courtesy Carmen, of the Fashion with Compassion blog)

Fashion is fabric and style,

Especially wearing a smile…

Accessories

Like bangles to please,

Its wearers  and worth their while!

Simple to complex patterns,

And how tight a fit all matters…

A casual bust

Mostly untrussed,

Older convention shatters.

Included is arrangement of hair,

Interesting beauty here…

Curls or long flowing

A woman’s style showing,

Through good impressions there!

ANTI-P.C. MODEL RAILROADING?

He going back a few years

When people held fewer fears…

About burning coal

For energy goals,

When a coal train regularly appears!

Not using behemoth power,

A giant producing huge watts-per-hour…

But a cool RS-1

To get  the job done,

Or a steam engine with cinder shower!

Close down this plant—Why?

So you got a little smut in your eye…

Berry bushes poke through–

Gonna wipe out thorn bushes, too?

Expensive scrubbers can clean up the sky.

Most of all–coal trains bring jobs,

Labor and wind farms at odds…

How many men

Does solar need attend,

Its labor needs at large?

Moving coal cars is fun,

As models–not the real ones–

Although on my pike

I’ll do what I like,

But not with the same need of funds!

–Jonathan Caswell

LET US SLEEP ON IT*

woe betide them that try

to se in stone what needs more time…

My turn table lost?*

without further cost?

Then I looked near bed time!

I thought I’d lost my lead

To that tyrn table, but indeed…

A curve could be made

With large enough radius laid,

To satisfy the using of steam.

A switch I’d previously cut in,

To one engine stall could run…

The other could Branch

From the turn table switch–

My space problem was overcome!

Envisioning a massive water wheel,

Fed by a sluice pipe has appeal…

This motorized–

Already planned (what a surprise?),

For which the tourists would positively SQUEAL!

And then, the bridge over a mill dam flood—

If I wanted, a covered bridge wouldn’t take TOO MUCH blood…!

Just for light tourist trains–

Steel reinforced all the same–

An occasional short freight could be good!

I wish I could draw all this now,

All it took was time to see how…

Possibilities arise

by opening one’s eyes,Imagination plus a day’s-worth of wrinkled brow!

*NOTE–Refer back to the post..ECONOMIC CHOICES IN MINIATURE…posted yesterday~!

THE GRASS OF THE FIELD…

(See Matthew 6:30, and surrounding verses)

Fine figures and fashions

Ignite our human passions…

Clothes fitting right

A welcome sight,

On any social occasion!

Yet the human soul

Doesn’t need clothes to be whole…

If you think “nude”

Understanding is skewed,

Our coverings need not be droll!

Whom are you depending on?

On this side or the other of the “pond”…

The Lord Most High

Is “my guy”,

The Christ is the One.

Whom do you serve,

Bob Dylan observed…

That all flesh

With the Devil will mesh,

Unless God is served.

Focus on God through others,

Unbelievers are sisters and brothers…

All in God’s image made

Their sin price He paid,

Why their chances to know God we smother?

All men (humans) are like grass,*

how quickly a life will pass…

See Christ today–

Don’t walk away–

Who knows when one breathes their last?
