DAY-BY-DAY GOD LEADS

After the Child was born,

Joseph was duly warned….

Warned in a dream

Of Herod’s blood scheme,

Traveling far from harm!

Believers today face the same,

Sudden deliverance named…

Listen each day

Finding the way,

Keeping their new faith from harm!

As Joseph, so should we,

Do what’s necessary…

Shielding one’s faith

Moving where it’s safe

Escaping Herod’s fury.

Then when The time is right,

Let Christ within you shine bright…

Obedience true

Is up to you,

If Christ would be your light!

LEFTOVERS–AN ACROSTIC

L-eftovers she thinks edible,

E-ven  when a day old…

F-lavor she thinks it better

T-ill the stuff gets too old!

O-lder than a day or two

V-ery seldom she eats,

E-ver watchful of quality

R-ationing her treats…

S-oooo—let her husband eat it up!  😦

ALAS…THE JITNEY!

ALAS…THE JITNEY!

Alas, the jitney is dead,

We’ll have to “hoof it” instead…

If we make it home

I’ll write a poem,

Do you think we’ll find our own beds?

The classic is “running out of gas”,

So the guy can attempt a pass…

Never tried it myself

Had more character wealth,

Than to trick her into something crass.

Whether jitneys are fixed or not,

We both found love hit the spot…

No deceiving

But grateful receiving

The lifetime of love we got!

–Jonathan Caswell

I WANT TO TRY TOO!

I WANT TO TRY, TOO!!

Languishing in the shadows

Asking for with pride…

Being treated callow

Over-wrought beside

Regal parades of the powerful

Denying e’re the chance…

Americans with dignity, and…

Youth with gang parents!
