(VERY) EARLY MORNING PROGRESS…

Couldn’t sleep—what a shame–

Had playtime to reclaim…

Three or more tries

Under night skies,

But with a clearer brain!

He completed reconnecting

Both spur and runaround track connecting….

All rail joiners fit

He was done with it,

Couldn’t test with the power pack defecting!

Musical power packs,

Changing over to  power tracks…

When he’s done

both layouts’ll run,

He’ll go on to more creative acts!

IMAGE UPGRADE

He hopes he’s not ingenuous,

His time each evening tenuous…

has been uploading

Bicentennial railroading,

found some Header Images stupendous!

Honoring July fourth,

By patriotic train cars of course…!

His N scale uses

Bicentennial cabooses,

To which the “seal” says, “ORT-ORT!”

Fancy red-white-and-blue,

Appears on bikinis too…

But this year

Railcars are dear,

So them you have to view!

CHRONIC DEPRESSION VERSUS THE LORD

(From the author’s notebook.  Written 4/14/16)

Depression seen as chronic,

Folks judge moronic…

Why choose

And refuse

To be catatonic?

Some have the crazy idea,

Behavior is willful and clear…

Always a choice

With inner voice,

Pointing the way to steer!

“Just stop that,” is a farce,

Who gave you the right to parse…?

Some things are not

As easily shot,

Without making it worse!

Why don’t you understand

Continuing to reprimand…

This creation fallen

Is appalling,

But the way things currently stand?

The chronic depressed are cast,

Into a bullring vast…

One says, “OLE”

All you need to say

Is begone, and the sickness is past”!

We’re often pushed aside,

Who will the “gutless”  abide…?

But Christ’s embrace

Filled with grace

Can heal all that’s inside!

An Opinion Poem..based in part on the author’s personal experience.

LET US SLEEP ON IT*

woe betide them that try

to se in stone what needs more time…

My turn table lost?*

without further cost?

Then I looked near bed time!

I thought I’d lost my lead

To that tyrn table, but indeed…

A curve could be made

With large enough radius laid,

To satisfy the using of steam.

A switch I’d previously cut in,

To one engine stall could run…

The other could Branch

From the turn table switch–

My space problem was overcome!

Envisioning a massive water wheel,

Fed by a sluice pipe has appeal…

This motorized–

Already planned (what a surprise?),

For which the tourists would positively SQUEAL!

And then, the bridge over a mill dam flood—

If I wanted, a covered bridge wouldn’t take TOO MUCH blood…!

Just for light tourist trains–

Steel reinforced all the same–

An occasional short freight could be good!

I wish I could draw all this now,

All it took was time to see how…

Possibilities arise

by opening one’s eyes,Imagination plus a day’s-worth of wrinkled brow!

*NOTE–Refer back to the post..ECONOMIC CHOICES IN MINIATURE…posted yesterday~!

MEETING “MISTY” AGAIN

She worked at UNIBANK

In Douglas–I wanted to thank

Her for her time

And her job climb,

Her brand new upward rank.

On an impulse I stopped today,

Someone smiled and showed me the way…

A classy place-

Seeing her face

Washed all my concerns away!

She said that I looked good,

My wife’s hand braces–understood…

The joy of less pain,

She said come again

I told her that maybe I would!

TIME TO CONFESS AND REPENT

AUTHOR’S NOTE:  He’s not trying to grandstand—just admit to his guilt of certain motives and conduct and ask forgiveness of those he has wronged–whether or not they feel they were.  It is a part of his Christian belief…being reconciled to God and the ones he has wronged asking forgiveness of both.  There is a Bible basis to all this, which the author believes by faith to be the transcribed word of God to be followed and obeyed.  Especially when he doesn’t!  Questions/Comments are always welcome.

Writer of poetry,

The “fashion” got away from me…

Chasing skirts

Many women hurts,

Of this I am guilty!

Sought “readers” unsuccessfully,

The hidden motive–to see…

What interested

Where saints shouldn’t tread

And pester them endlessly!

The many unreturned visits,

Prove out how wrong is it…

I know my sin

Repenting therein,

Stop this practice is the solution exquisite!

I will  stillreach out,

In subjects not ruled out…

Walk in the flesh

Heavily risks death,

Gotta pull some hot irons out!

The upshot–some I’ll follow–

The rest–if they visit tomorrow…

I’ll respond graciously

But not the pest–not me–

I’ve sinned–I repent in sorrow!

My actions toward those of whom I’ve spoken,

From now on–contact is broken…

This I must do

So they’ll feel safe too,

No need of me in their business poking.

HERITAGE RIDES AGAIN!

On the Railway named “PAN-AM”,

They conjured a curious plan…

An old loco

With it’s first logo,

Put it back in service and it RAN!

Mostly for local yard work,

Natives thimk it a perk…

Local history

Working patiently,

With the expected GP-7 or 9 quirks!

Spends time in between rail yards–

East Deerfield, Portland,  onwards…

Railroader memories

Don’t grow up on trees,

And for a while they won’t break down from rust!

NEW HEADER IMAGES:

The Poet’s gone searching again,

For winter scenery then…

GREEN MOUNTAIN’s Alcos—

He’d love to see those—

His favorite engine!

ALCO RS-1’s in the cold,

Working with heart although old…

Giving class

To a road short of cash,

That railroad’s survival they’re owed!

–Jonathan Caswell

STRANGER THINGS…

Stranger outcomes happen,

When opportunity’s tapping,

Wanting in

And you begin

Writing ideas you’re trapping!

He’s written ’bout Christ and trains–

Weather seems worth one’s pains….

Fashion poems are new

As something to do,

And the challenge takes working brains!

I’d say it is channeling energy,

Most of which has left me….

Shapes and sizes

And stylish surmises,

Still need a bard’s entrée.

“An eye for the women.” one said,

Focusing on their clothes instead..

“Clothes make the man”

And women, and can

Leave little more to be said!

YET–a poet describes,

Details that emanate vibes…

Along a track

That likes feedback,

Both positive and wise!

–Jonathan Caswell

MODELING MEMORIES

His memories of New England various,

Were by and large vicarious…

Mostly pictures he saw

with interest and awe,

His chances of a visit–hilarious!

Point of fact he was too young,

Couldn’t drive himself even some…

The eight-hour ride

Once a summer left wide,

Window for relevant magazines to come!

Still his interest grew,

Past the time when he knew…

This paint scheme was gone,

these ALCOs moved on.

But the history he wanted to view.

Found an N scale engine thus,

Painted just like this—a plus–

To re-enact

Historical fact,

Without too much fuss!
