SORRY TO BLOG AND SCRAM!

The nature of who I am,

So sorry to post and scram…

Wife want eating

Three meals completing,

I’l come back here if I can!

This blogs my poetry,

Finding mine is the key…

SEARCH:  “Caswell”–

Most are  revealed,

Written heroically!

As to the prompt–almost any–

Subject inspiring–many…

Three or four styles

Bring you smiles,

A Christian blog not like any?

–Jonathan Caswell

DE-EMPHASIZING “ASSETS”

Howbeit a man,

Explaining how best he can…

Techniques using clothes

To camouflage those,

Two parts that entice a man?

What I’ve  in fashion blogs learned,

Is that certain strategies discerned….

Are mighty effective

Distracting deceptive,

Respect in their eyes earned!

Denying men their prayers,

Dress in effective layers…

A blazer disrupts

Sight down and up,

Hiding those detail betrayers!

Mesmerizing pattern on dresses,

Sometimes OVER-STRESSES…

Shape and size

Of what man’s eyes,

Like about these dresses.

Better irregular colors,

Make observing eyes dullard…

Takes the whole dress

His attention arrest,

Focus is somewhat cluttered!

Looser blouses suggest,

Mystery that’s best…

Wear them tight

And you’ve no right

to complain about his interest!

Cardigan and ponchos in layers,

Are also good girl watcher slayers…

Not sure where

“You are” in there,

Less interesting then, for stares!

If she “goes without”

Be certain nothing pokes out…

Wear a T shirt

As a liner won’t hurt,

Or with heavier fabric, no doubt!

FROM A CHARACTER WHO BLOGS POETRY…!

Advice from an “old man”

Don’t let the crowd command…

You to produce

A poor excuse,

But pick your ground and stand!

Having “LIKES” for posts is nice,

But some posts cut a deep slice…

Or folks bored

With that kind of sword,

Won’t be caught thinking twice!

Many older posts,

Look like towns with ghosts…

Not a LIKE

Or comment strike,

So much for a poet’s boasts!

TO ALL BELIEVERS OF ANY FAITH

It sounds controversial

For  a Christian to appeal…

To believers of all other gods

To lend their aid and deal…

With the human suffering

Of two major hurricanes

Families of many faiths

Enduring loss and pain!

Even if you have no god,

Please  think good thoughts to heal…

It’ll be a long time  till many folks

Return to an even keel;

This is what my Dad might have done

In his liberal theology…

Reaching out to all concerned

With no apology!

I’ m thinking of a special friend,

A blogger fresh and true…

Known as Holly Hunter

And other Floridians, too;

Her “House of Heart” is quiet till

She survives the storm….

I repeat my concern

For her a colleagues’ love is warm!

To our knees, lotus positions, or however you access the divine—for the sake all storm victims!

TAKES COURAGE AND ENCOURAGEMENT!

It must take courage to pose,

In plain or fancy clothes…

The public eye

(including guys),

In essence the whole world she shows!

More for a purpose than money–

Some responses are  rummy–

Courageous means

Fulfilling fond dreams,

Good reason to flatten that tummy!

Amateurs know whom they are,

Accepting themselves above par…

Not letting shape

Become like red tape,

But showing we all can star!

ACCEPT NO IMITATIONS!

All kinds of stories about Him,

Major magazines by their whim…

Pile up “facts”

From historical “acts”

Pushing faith so thin.

Glorious videotography,

Impressing the simple like me…

Easily swayed

With not much aid,

Cast doubt on Jesus’ deity!

“Christian scholars” are used,

In programs where faith is disabused…

Faith in God’s word

Portrayed as absurd,

Is implied and accused.

Subtle persuasion proceeds,

knocking support from God’s deeds…

Historical’s fine

But draw the line,

Or your Accuser succeeds!’-

I’ve heard the insults of men,

And arguments of religion…

That cunningly catch

Your faith dispatch,

Woo you to legalism!

Stand firm even to stand,

Don’t be deceived even then…

Christ is your King

Give God everything,

Don’t stay submerged in you sin.

A SPRITE WHISPERED

A SPRITE…whispered in my ear,

Where have our people gone….

Something called “Democracy”

They claim has gone terribly wrong!

They ignore us despite our cries,

They say the winner’s wrong…

They look at us with evil eyes

No more to sing our songs?

They claim all the voters are

taken by a plot…

They’re not happy with the choice

that the people got?

Even sprites and fairies know

That corruption is evil…

but will these former friends see that—

Maybe they never will!

I guess like Puff the Dragon,

Who lived by the sea….

these spoiled children are no friends

Of folks thinking positively!

How we miss our friends who were

filled with love who now hate…

When will they stop this foolish quest

and come to us and celebrate?

–Jonathan Caswell

Poet and friendly to fairies in general.  😀

IS FREEDOM ENOUGH?

Freedom for MY words,

Complicated by belief…

Sticks in someone’s craw

The filtering is brief.

Yet in this place here,

We fill each other’s joy…

Speaking praising love

In all aspects employed.

Truly I am loved

In ways not fully understood…

God gave us blogging

And declared it good!

–Jonathan Caswell

ONE I’D LIKE TO SEE

I know, great distances here,

But he holds this blogger dear…

Two of a kind

Of separate mind,

His affection for her is clear.

He rhymes his poetry,

Her verses run deeply…

Into one’s soul

Romance oft the goal,

Which he avoids discretely

Her domicile SEEMS FAR,

Perhaps better to stay where they are…

A hug would be nice–

He’d ask for it thrice,

Before getting back in his car!

(A friendship…in case anyone questions Poet’s motives.)

A TOAST TO FRIENDS PRESENT AND MISSING…AT CHRISTMAS TIME!

People we miss and love,

Missing or taken above…

Oh how we miss

Their joy or hiss,

Their gentle comments or rough!

Among them is Esther Ling,

She was in the lesbian thing…

Opposite were we

But she was a Mommy,

Ran to her when figuratively I needed mothering!

Numerous friends I had in school,

Have slipped or drove away (I’m the fool)…

Some I drove away

Or ignored to this day,

Elementary through college kept only two

Bloggers–many follow some not–

Never sure of how many give you thought…

Over a thousand mine

To whom I give little time,

Just a handful  of their blogs I’ve sought!

Surrounded by my family we are,

Been slow to contact any (my par)…

Younger ones I don’t know

As familiar ones go,

What can I do, having delayed thus far?

Does any of this make sense,

Is loss of your friends as immense…

I’m sure it is–

Friends we miss,

We remember  our friends in the past tense!
