THE COMING RAIN

THE COMING RAIN

Hardly on a high alert

We wait for coming rain….

Weather radar says the Berkshires*

Are first to feel same.

Expected after midnight

Here in Central “Mass.”

Could be an inch or more

Or less watering the grass.

Then it will be hot and sunny

In time for the Fourth of July…

Our fine nation’s Birthday,

Before a lot of young men died.

* the Berkshires..mountain rage in Western Massachusetts….part of the Appalachian range (called Taconic in New York State, just across the state border)

THE VOICE-OVER IS OVER?

THE VOICE-OVER IS OVER?

Spent nearly one hundred dollars

To start an acting career….

Barely got it started

When I started working here!

I had a radio voice,

So most people said…

Paging  loudly and clearly

At work must’ve gone to my head.

So I got things all set up

Then chickened out in the end…

Now you won’t hear me as a charscter

Or commercial urging that you spend!
