HE DAYDREAMS…

HE DAYDREAMS…ABOUT YOU!

He’ll neer say directly

But he dreams of you…

Very introspective,

He dreams of you in blue!

Green velvet brings out your eyes,

Pencil skirts would be great….

If help is needed to find a size

He’d gladly participate.

Day dreams go only so far

Exciting although they be…

You are the height of his daydreams

Even if you he’ll never see!

IS HE SMILING AT HER?

IS HE SMILING AT HER?

Diana’s cat,–in tuxedo–poses in full flash,

Apparently happy being caught…

With her pearls around his neck worn with panache

Like a ruffled Dickey we had bought.

Pearls he had played with when Missy put on him

The doubled string at which he was surprised…

If it had been Master who had thus adorned him so,

String of pearls might have vaporized!

He was Missy’s Cat, spending whole days with her,

While Master worked keeping home fires burning…

Her little friend named “Tippie” sat on her lap and purred

We had a cat who was very discerning!

Diana found the picture–Tippie Cat’s been gone

Two or more years under sod…

Buried him on the edge of land that we used to own,

In woods where he often loved to tread.

She has “enough” pictures of this our last cat,

Health needs prevent getting another…

Reminding of his healthy years, our love and all of that–

We’re not likely to adopt another!

WANTED…CLOSE COMMUNICATING!

WANTED CLOSE COMMUNICATING!

The problem was both had hurts,

Committed by trousers and skirts…

Commitment to trust

Gathered rust,

Both thought the other curt.

Walls and grudges build

Despite commitments to yield…

Many a marriage

Is disparaged,

By combat in the field.

Obvious one doesn’t understand,

The other’s health demands…

One bends over,

The other takes over

And pushes one into badlands.

The verbose one wonders why

The silent one won’t try

to open

As they’re hoping,

To fill them in bye-and-bye.

The silent one’s thoughts run sarcastic,

The other one listens to drastic…

And half the time

Is not so inclined,

They both fall into that basket!

PURRING ALONG

PURRING ALONG

My wife’ pointing out kitties

For adopting in the local paper…

Emotionally she’s hoping for

Another kitty cat caper.

Never mind reality

Of medical risk from scratches…

She would ignore it all

To find adoption matches.

I do want one

But am afraid if she in fear is pinned…

(The last year of Tippie Cat)

A potential situation she’d be in?

With car payments taken on

We have little choice…

Again we cannot afford a cat

but I’ll let her have her voice!
