CRITTER CALLS!

Not quite like peepers at night,

Railroad critters have their own light…

G.E.’s tend to whine

On their owner’s dime,

With short cuts of cars they fight!

The twenty-five tonner “dinky”

Exhaust tends toward stinky…

Smoke in the eyes

Is no surprise,

At times blue smoke turns inky!

When old, oft put on display,

Costs more to scrap anyway…

Does its job

With no hobnob,

From the big trains’ right of way!

STICKING WITH LOVE

Martin Luther King Junior,

Was of a Godly humor…

In love he fought

That Christians ought

To walk by the Bible not rumor!

Willing to face,

Human kind’s racial disgrace…

Christian “saints”

Who said other “paints”

Were not of the human race!

Battled until he died

for his Lord crucified…

Hate didn’t win

when it killed him,

God’s love will never subside!

How many would lay down their life,

For Lord , for justice and wife?

He followed through

As I do too,

Who does all for the Lord gains new life!

CONNIVING KITTY CATS!

The girl in the suit seems dismayed,

Her spot’s been taken away…

The tiger reclined

Is the one who “felined”

While the girl was at play!

This picture seems out of scale,

Little pussy cat’s big as a whale…

The glass is big too–

A close-up view–

Should think the woman would prevail!

Now if…it’s not her cat,

Spray bottles take care of that…!

Her lioness within

Emerges to win,

And the presumptive cat…would scat!

POET…AFTER (A) FASHION!

He calls himself “fashion poet”,

One or two others know it…

In pursuits

Avoiding lawsuits,

He certainly doesn’t want to blow it!

Him being man and all,

Must carefully judge his call…

With less passion

Than stereotypical fashion,

Not being the Beast at the ball.

Gender matters to him,

Especially if women…

They’re the kind

He most has in mind,

Do they mind if he tiptoes in?

A TOAST TO FRIENDS PRESENT AND MISSING…AT CHRISTMAS TIME!

People we miss and love,

Missing or taken above…

Oh how we miss

Their joy or hiss,

Their gentle comments or rough!

Among them is Esther Ling,

She was in the lesbian thing…

Opposite were we

But she was a Mommy,

Ran to her when figuratively I needed mothering!

Numerous friends I had in school,

Have slipped or drove away (I’m the fool)…

Some I drove away

Or ignored to this day,

Elementary through college kept only two

Bloggers–many follow some not–

Never sure of how many give you thought…

Over a thousand mine

To whom I give little time,

Just a handful  of their blogs I’ve sought!

Surrounded by my family we are,

Been slow to contact any (my par)…

Younger ones I don’t know

As familiar ones go,

What can I do, having delayed thus far?

Does any of this make sense,

Is loss of your friends as immense…

I’m sure it is–

Friends we miss,

We remember  our friends in the past tense!

WHY MRS. CLINTON IS GONE*

*(From this Header Image Randomized  File)

As by election she’s gone,

Blog administrators move on…

Needed space

For the poet’s face,

And his wife–picnicking on the lawn!

And which would he rather see–

Clinton or industry…?

His options voiced

And made his choice,

Mrs. Clinton, you are now “free”.

Have you seen the poet’s new hat,

Fake beard and all of that…?

Come again

Let the images run,

And maybe in time, you’ll see that!

MEMORIES OF CHRISTMAS TRAINS

EDAVILLE is where one goes,

Riding narrow rails when it snows…

Christmas displays

Along rights of way,

all lit up in lights!

The “North Pole Express” is running,

All over the country by cunning…

Railroad lines

Wanting happier times,

Santa they know is coming!

Look in the papers to see,

Where Christmas trains are running shortly…

It’s worth paying

For children’s playing,

Making positive memory!

AMAZING THE CAT STAYS STILL!!!

AMAZING that cat stays still,

Hard to find any that will…

That collar and tie

It must rate hign,

Not to tear to shreds at will!

HE LOVES ODDBALL TRAINS!

When buying trains for his collection,

He aimed in certain directions…

He took great pains

Finding oddball trains,

Delighting him in their inspection!

A little like him they are,

Interesting shapes and parts…

Characters like him

Respond to whim,

An oddball becomes his star!

The ALCO RSD-four or five,

Worked good for heavy-hauling drive…

Six wheels each truck

Earned more than good luck,

They kept tonnage going, climb or dive!

This particular unit he doesn’t have,

There ARE LIMITS to what one can grab…

But pictures show

Why that railroad would go,

With an oddball–extra traction, rails to grab!

That high-looking “stick” so grand,

Is an extra-high fill for traction sand…

Blown on the rails,

Better traction it avails,

One of the reasons they survived in Iron Ore land!

A LASS’ TARTAN SKIRTS!

A lass’ tartan skirts  as lifted,

Demonstrates her gifted…

Sense of style

And joyful smile,

Aye, lassie, you’re more than just gifted!
