STRANGER THINGS…

Stranger outcomes happen,

When opportunity’s tapping,

Wanting in

And you begin

Writing ideas you’re trapping!

He’s written ’bout Christ and trains–

Weather seems worth one’s pains….

Fashion poems are new

As something to do,

And the challenge takes working brains!

I’d say it is channeling energy,

Most of which has left me….

Shapes and sizes

And stylish surmises,

Still need a bard’s entrée.

“An eye for the women.” one said,

Focusing on their clothes instead..

“Clothes make the man”

And women, and can

Leave little more to be said!

YET–a poet describes,

Details that emanate vibes…

Along a track

That likes feedback,

Both positive and wise!

WHAT SAYS “NEW ENGLAND” ?

My model layout wanders it seems

Away from cherished themes…

What for you

Says “New England” too,

Beyond operational schemes?

 Does NISSEN BREAD,

MOXIE, barns red,

SPAGS and stores

With “colonial” decors,

Monuments to Revolutionary dead?

Dairies and granite quarries

In earlier days held stories…

Ice cream and views

Along the Turnpike count too,

And whaling ship stories!

Broad “a’s” in speech,

A Kennedy’s reach…

Where Plymouth Rock stays

And Sturbridge Village ways

Are preserved to history teach!

So for my small train set,

What industries are best…

Beverages and rock salt

Metals, food stuffs sought,

And historic touristy nests?

Gravel still travels by train,

Lumber and minerals same…

Environmental ire

Has dampened coal fired

Power plants, but garbage still flames!

A water-powered mill

And museum of trains fit the bill…

For small excursions

Of rich incursions into filling the local till!

Do you think I’ll have enough room,

I figure some things will die soon…

New England gives

And takes to live,

But survival cannot be assumed!

MID-FEBRUARY HAIKU ASSORTMENT

(Each individual three-line haiku is considered a poem on its own,

despite perhaps being related to a common theme.–J.E.C.)

(Additionally, haiku may or may not include punctuation—traditional haiku generally do not  have it –J.E.C.)

Presidents’ Day off

Waving away package trucks

Skeleton crew on

American loss,

Long weekends not historic…

Blurred history lost!

High snow banks turn brown

Road salt stains on pavement grey

Waiting for snow days

Plow trucks stand idle

Except for salting road ice

No more overtime?

Winter buds wonder

Is it time to grow and sprout?

Freeze burnt other years…!

Swans in ponds feeding

Youngsters finally on their own

Mommas drove them off

Easter candy sales

Set up before the fourteenth

Valentines half off

POET…AFTER (A) FASHION!

He calls himself “fashion poet”,

One or two others know it…

In pursuits

Avoiding lawsuits,

He certainly doesn’t want to blow it!

Him being man and all,

Must carefully judge his call…

With less passion

Than stereotypical fashion,

Not being the Beast at the ball.

Gender matters to him,

Especially if women…

They’re the kind

He most has in mind,

Do they mind if he tiptoes in?

PRETTY AS A PICTURE

Is that a cowl neck I see,

This sweater fits her to a “T”…

A classy belt

Accentuates her svelt

Portions, lovely to see!

This sweater—a camel cream?

Allied with a pencil dress dream…

Opposites attract

Results here distract,

As a wonderfully  well-designed scheme.

An business woman ideal,

Her male colleagues—take a chill–

Notebook at her side

Sunglasses hide,

Reactions to compliment overkill.

HE’S SWEET ON SOMEONE

HE’S SWEET ON SOMEONE

His is emotionally

Attached to someone he sees…

Willingness per view

Is nothing new,

For years, near-automatically!

He doesn’t dare name names,

To much risk that doing so shames….

Him and /or her

Better, as it were,

Keep on with his excuses lame.

In honest reality,

He’s sweet on nearly all he sees…

That are of a mind

Both open and kind,

A give-and-take mentality.

Certain ones do catch his eye,

Reveal…he won’t even try…

Suffice to say

Some blow him away,

But he’d be lost without his “Di.”

(His wife’s nickname)

DEDICATED TO  eh, MANY kind souls…FOXY FEMALES ALL!  😀

FAR MORE THAN DECORATION

FAR MORE THAN DECORATION

Mention the woman’s name “Holly”

And folks think about Christmas jolly…

Singing DECK THE HALLS

While a snow drift calls,

In a Christmas culturally “poly”.

She wanted to go away,

Then decided to stay…

Our Holly found

Without her around,

A lot of folks felt dismay!

Her writing’s a treasure trove

Fashioned in creative love…

Greeting each guest

She does the best,

And really has nothing to prove!

Last of all–to put up with me–

Requires  to the Nth degree…

Kindness unbounded

From a guy who’s hounded

His share toward insanity!

Love her romancing her–no–

But I love the rest of her so…

If I was available

She’d be assailable,

Why a guy hasn’t–I don’t know.

I fervently wish she can–

If she wants–to find a good man…

Whatever she needs

With my Father I plead,

That she may not leave us again.

Some day, of course, many will,

When blogging won’t pay bills…

Or another medium

Makes better comedians,

Then will our blog go still.

Avowed love of lady bloggers,

Hard-working creative bloggers…

I love thee all

For me you stand tall,

Driving us romantics bonkers!  🙂

Some of you are very fetching,

Appearance not all that’s catching…

The mind and heart–

Thy very art–

Draweth me to your fine meshings!

By word and artistic guile,

You make this creative man smile…

Cry and laugh

On your behalf,

Each in a wonderful style.

Long distance hugs the rule

In this community cool….

Cool in attitude

To not be rude,

Suggesting of anything cruel.

Group hugs all around,

My love to all of you found….

In likes and raves

From this former knave,

Who likes in whose company he’s found!

GOLDEN AVENUES

GOLDEN AVENUES

Driving home this afternoon,

My “baby” in the car…

Sunlit wonder all around

From a burning orange star,

Trees ablaze in glory

Shielded those trees bare…

Formed a perfect backdrop

For sunlight-scented air!

But I had to hurry

Against the blinding sun…

Didn’t due to worry,

I had to make that run

To get her home and safe…

Would I get to work on time–

I had to keep faith!

Golden avenues along which

We traveled by car…

Lit with welcome light

From a friendly star;

Got the Missus home again

And then off I flew…

Arrived only an hour late–

WHEW!!!!

THE GUY WHO LOST IT…

THE GUY WHO LOST IT…

The guy who recently “lost it”,

Whose manhood is not a threat…

Still has a brain that functions–

He hasn’t  lost  all of it yet!

He likes the luscious looking,

Faves he has in fact…

Commenting he won’t be brooking

But is less likely to act.

His compliments of people

He keeps closer to the chest…

Experience in business climates

He does what is best.
