POET…AFTER (A) FASHION!

He calls himself “fashion poet”,

One or two others know it…

In pursuits

Avoiding lawsuits,

He certainly doesn’t want to blow it!

Him being man and all,

Must carefully judge his call…

With less passion

Than stereotypical fashion,

Not being the Beast at the ball.

Gender matters to him,

Especially if women…

They’re the kind

He most has in mind,

Do they mind if he tiptoes in?

TRAPPIST FOODS

When J. J. NISSEN folded,

My image of a bakery molded…

Its replacement too big

So I had to dig,

To see what research “beholded”.

My past is in two places–

It one ever traces–

The lines of “me”

Diligently

For personal data chases!

Massachusetts, New York State,

My two major windows of fate…

Born here

But raised over there,

Memories in both are great.

One of my faves was Monks Bread,

A Trappist Monastery did…

And still does

The bread funds their cause,

Producing jams, jellies, plus all kinds of bread!

A model flat against the wall,

Leaves hardly space at all…

Have to use what I have

Of plastic walls saved,

Modeling a bakery et. al.

So I thought of TRAPPIST FOODS,

A catch-all title to use…

Producing bread

And conserves, I said,

Switching different train cars is a ball!

Specifically, flour and fruit,

Corn syrup and sugar to boot…

Isn’t enough?

They brand other stuff,

The question of a brewery—moot.

MONKS BREAD  from Western New York,

From that Trappist Abbey of course…

A college friend

Heading toward that end,

Found a wife and went in another!

FAR MORE THAN DECORATION

FAR MORE THAN DECORATION

Mention the woman’s name “Holly”

And folks think about Christmas jolly…

Singing DECK THE HALLS

While a snow drift calls,

In a Christmas culturally “poly”.

She wanted to go away,

Then decided to stay…

Our Holly found

Without her around,

A lot of folks felt dismay!

Her writing’s a treasure trove

Fashioned in creative love…

Greeting each guest

She does the best,

And really has nothing to prove!

Last of all–to put up with me–

Requires  to the Nth degree…

Kindness unbounded

From a guy who’s hounded

His share toward insanity!

Love her romancing her–no–

But I love the rest of her so…

If I was available

She’d be assailable,

Why a guy hasn’t–I don’t know.

I fervently wish she can–

If she wants–to find a good man…

Whatever she needs

With my Father I plead,

That she may not leave us again.

Some day, of course, many will,

When blogging won’t pay bills…

Or another medium

Makes better comedians,

Then will our blog go still.

<3 MY LOVE FOR LADY BLOGGERS! <3

❤     MY LOVE FOR LADY BLOGGERS     ❤

Avowed love of lady bloggers,

Hard-working creative bloggers…

I love thee all

For me you stand tall,

Driving us romantics bonkers!  🙂

Some of you are very fetching,

Appearance not all that’s catching…

The mind and heart–

Thy very art–

Draweth me to your fine meshings!

By word and artistic guile,

You make this creative man smile…

Cry and laugh

On your behalf,

Each in a wonderful style.

Long distance hugs the rule

In this community cool….

Cool in attitude

To not be rude,

Suggesting of anything cruel.

Group hugs all around,

My love to all of you found….

In likes and raves

From this former knave,

Who likes in whose company he’s found!

😀

WE GIVE OUR MAKER PRAISE

WE GIVE OUR MAKER PRAISE

We give our Maker praise

For all sorts of cloud and haze…

He wraps Himself proud

With myriad dark cloud,

We call Him the Ancient of Days!

All that with breath rejoice,

God  made Man His CHOICE…

Of being able

To choose God’s table,

Or favor and love to lose.

God wants with you to walk.

And not folk who just talk the talk…

Will you agree

His child to be,

Or for eternity balk?

PACKRAT’S PRIZE

PACKRAT’S PRIZE

While he lay down for a nap,

She readied her surprise….

When he woke and entered the kitchen

He barely believed his eyes!

She’d hoed out the bottom

Cabinets of all their stuff…

Plastic, pots and bowls saved

It all looked more than enough.

She had him finish hoeing things out

And running the dust mop within….

She sat down for a moment’s rest

Before checking their chicken.

She’d roasted a chicken stuffed with apples

And bacon  on top for their lunch….

He put potatoes in to bake

And she said he’d helped a whole bunch!

He served her chicken and potato

And sliced peaches on the side…

Then he had to get ready for work

But left a big smile for his bride!

HIGHER SPEED RAIL

HIGHER SPEED RAIL

(To  tune of “THE YELLOW ROSE OF TEXAS”)

Been working on the N scale

Whenever I’ve found time,

Rebuilding older trackage

So electrics will work fine…

Putting in curved turnouts

Simulating former speed,

My truncated mainline

Once hosted iron steeds!

The story goes that this was once

A high-speed mainline,

Alas, this part of the railroad is

In serious decline…

A few banked curves remain to

Remind us what once was,

The rest of the roadbed

Like that economy, went bust.

But renewing hope is out there

My imaginary line,

Hosts a  tourist train

Which looks like it does fine…

A collection of Rail Diesel Cars–

Steam engines have a few–

An array of passenger train cars,

Restoration still to do!

When rebuilding’s finished

(It’s going to run this time),

They’ll have a ceremony

So get yourself in line…

Cooking for a grand shindig

The restaurants in town,

Will serve the finest dishes

With MOXIE passed around!

They’ll serve their finest cuisine

So chug that MOXIE down!!!!

WHERE’S THE EXCITEMENT GONE?

WHERE’S THE EXCITEMENT GONE?

His Reader was suitably cleansed

And purified for all intents…

What remained was dull,

No fire to pull

Him toward blogged events.

Apparently wrong attitudes

Got stuck in how  he viewed

Certain proceedings

Followed by leadings

Toward folks normally eskewed.

Now he has to find

Better things for his mind…

He’s not a boy

Giving up a toy,

But a man taken in by hinds.

Life’s full of wonder he says,

maybe it’s time he prays…

That God would lead

Him in all speed,

Toward interesting  happy days!
