OCTOBER SUNSET

Blue pastel background for a strudel-shaped cloud,
Orange glazing on all the higher spots…
As the background darkens, rectangular strudel gently fades
Till it’s gone–painted with cinder pots.

Cool and cloudy in parts
As October’s first week starts…
Partly cloudy
Not as rowdy
‘Cept for hayrides with exhaust sparks!
