POET…AFTER (A) FASHION!

He calls himself “fashion poet”,

One or two others know it…

In pursuits

Avoiding lawsuits,

He certainly doesn’t want to blow it!

Him being man and all,

Must carefully judge his call…

With less passion

Than stereotypical fashion,

Not being the Beast at the ball.

Gender matters to him,

Especially if women…

They’re the kind

He most has in mind,

Do they mind if he tiptoes in?

EXODUS 20: 3-5 A POEM

Have no other gods before Him,

Not even by innocent whim…

It’s suicidal

To worship an idol,

Walking on ice very thin.

So periodically

He must sort his files to see…

What grabs his heart–

With that he must part,

‘Tis better than hypocrisy!

Culling out accumulations

Of any conflagrations,,,

That hold him fast

He will cast,

Out for sanctification.

THE BUTTON-UP BLOUSE

THE BUTTON-UP BLOUSE

Forgive me for mentioning

I love a button-up blouse…

Pink or blue or white will do—

They look good on my spouse!

Ah the memories of girls

Who had buttons to try…

Theirs are opposite to ours,

I’m still not sure just why!

One in college allowed

One or two unbuttoned til…

She stopped any further  research,

Though of me she thought not ill.

I remember one time

When “gap-o-sis” got me caught…

In saying what I didn’t have to—

My Dad was anger fraught.

A girl  he had chased after

Offered  him to see…

What delights lay underneath

And he did…naturally.

That woman was his fave

Until the future wife came ’round…

When that woman cut things off

It really threw him down!

He doesn’t need

To see one undressed…

To know that he likes that style

On anyone the best!
