JESUS WEEPS.

JESUS WEEPS…!

(An opinion piece)

For all the children eaten,

For all His people beaten…

At least they’ll see

Eternity

Away from life so fleeting.

Those who sit by,

Should hear the tortured cry…

Of a god and his raiders,

Hateful invaders,

Who make victims want to die!

“Progressives” who don’t care a whit,

Yawn saying “get on with it”…

So we can win

Not looking at sin,

“That doesn’t bother us one bit.”

They call themselves upright,

But that won’t wash tonight…

Jesus weeps

While a ruler keeps

His vacation schedule tight.

HAREM SCARE’EM AND ME!

HAREM SCARE ‘EM AND ME !

(To the tune of “THE YELLOW ROSE OF TEXAS”…A SONG)

He thought he’d like a harem–

Oh, what a great idea–

Collecting beautiful women

For each day of the year…

Have one of every hair color:

Of red-heads, two or three,

Some that change with the season

Oh what a company!

But modern girls aren’t like the ones

That lived in olden time,

They’re much more educated,

Don’t easily resign…

Their lives and their futures

To a fat cat jailer-king,

To volunteer they’d like to hear

His cash disbursement ring.

Logistics would be maddening

Even if all were convinced,

Coming from all over

When he saw the bill he winced…

He began feeling outnumbered

Cooperation thin,

Instead of coming one-by-one

They all came after him!

He couldn’t pay their wages

So all up and left,

His fine plans for his evenings–

Not a single one was kept…

And then he got the bills for

The leaving of each one,

He decided then and there

Modern harems were no fun!

I thought of the same thing myself,

Like “THE HAREM OF BIRDS”

But only beautiful bloggers–

Women, in other words…

An exclusive club with just one man

My wife would veto fast,

My flesh already wants control—

The concept sounds a blast.

But thinking realistically

My cost is way too much,

I’ll lose those friends who cannot stand

A married man’s touch…

Long-distance relationships

Are harder to maintain,

I’d just as soon give up now

Before I feel the pain!

World concerns brought forth

Jesus died for all

Not all will come to be saved…

Everyone must choose!

Blending words to fit

Intimate, growing ideas…

Poetry lives on!

Softer words appear,

Thinking of a real-live doll,

Hugable by me!  🙂

ADMITTING MY SIN

ADMITTING MY SIN

(As part of the problem)

Tool of the devil may be,

But much of the evil’s from me…

Promises broken

E’en by a token,

From motives done selfishly.

Got back on Ebay

And spent in other ways…

Bank’s in a hole–

Sin takes a toll–

Leaving him in a haze.

With God’s help worked through

And out of his boiling hot stew…

Enough to see

Eternity

Depends on sin confessed, too!

AN EARTH DAY TRILOGY

AN EARTH DAY TRILOGY

(of political and ecological opinion)

Presidents using Air Force One

Must consider ecology dung…

Florida trips

For Republican rips,

Shows where his heart’s clung.

On the Washington Mall,

Earth Day parties shared it all…

Consciences seared,

The movement’s gone weird,

The way they left things appalled!

Put trash out the night before

Helps strong winds litter more…

Why people do

Clean up after you,

You don’t pay enough for the chore!

(Ideas from news items heard on local radio)

ON AGING

ON AGING

Gradually changing to be

From caregiver to “care-for-me”…

Independence fails

As the subject flails,

Struggling for quality.

Working in nursing homes

Keeps folks from being alone…

One has to harden

Then, not pardon

The frequent unending drone.

Folks who can still be kind

In the face of that sort of grind…

Have my vote

As folks with a Coat

Of Arms—of a gentle mind!”

In Rehab, I took time

To relate to those inclined…

Demential cases

Haven’t solid bases

But deep memory refined.

Will I end up like them,

Both Mom and Dad feared it back then…

Would have been kinder

For Dad without reminder

Of all he’d lost…and when.

So we’ll take it day-by-say,

In fact there’s no other way…

To not worry

Or to curry

Pity by obnoxious display!

PAIN-STABBED PIGGIES

PAIN-STABBED PIGGIES

Up at this hour to foil

Pain with aromatic oil…

In between piggies

Sharp ones and biggies,

Throbbing but not from toil.

Putting it on in the dark,

I feel it drip down to park…

On the other leg,

I sure would beg

It to stay where put, though in the dark.

As pain slowly fades away

Took insulin early today…

At four AM

I’ll say an amen

If this pain goes away!

ROOF CLEANING DETAIL

ROOF CLEANING DETAIL

One nearly slipped off the roof,

I do declare forsooth…

They need safety belts

To avoid big welts,

I’d say this is the proof!

IS HE DEAD?

IS HE DEAD?

Discovered my laptop’s webcam,

And saw what I really am…

Flaky skin tired,

Half-cylinder-fired–

hardly the once-handsome man.

Eyes half-closed in sleep,

Evidence of age creep…

Spark within

Needs a little wind

Fanning the flame a heap!

LAP-TOP SLOPPED!

LAP-TOP SLOPPED!

His lap-top computer turned seedy

Because he got too greedy…

Crap let in

Hit him on the chin,

For clean out, money is needy!

He wanted to multi-task

But found two websites masked…

Labelling deceit

(The small print feat)

Delivered for what he didn’t ask.

Called a friend for recommendations

On thee best for renumerations…

Security–

And cleanup (not free),

That will end the consternation.
