WHY DOES I BLOG?—–WELL, I began, in part as a continuation of my therapy writing. and love for limericks. I started with “THE POETRY CORNER,” on FACEBOOK. administrated by Ron DuBour….following him onto Word Press…and his new blog, OUR POETRY CORNER…which is alive and well and I occasionally still contribute to. Went out on my own, three years this October, with the start of this blog, BY THE MIGHTY MUMFORD. I also have an “overflow” blog, THE MARVELOUS MUMFORD, before I learned that my capacity limits referred only to my picture file!
I guess my role here is to love, as Jesus Christ would, all the bloggers I come in contact with….finding SOMETHING to have common ground on. I’ve tried to discuss differences, but I haven’t the heart—too costly for me! But al least I can love…!
It has largely turned into a personal semi-autobiographical poetry blog for me (I blog almost anything—that’s true!). Currently I’m on a women’s fashion poetry kick. They seem to provide as much or more material (no pun intended…REALLY!) for poetry as anything else.It has it’s own language to learn…boat neck, etc. I also will do poetry “on commission”—no loved poems, please…although I did do a mock one recently and generated a lot of interest…out of shock, I think!

No, it is a scheduled thing,
Lawn irrigation runs from late Spring…
The spray can be a pain
If it hits your window pane,
Open windows can be very messy things!

Include the husband’s schism…
Away from that home
Leaving wife all alone
To make it without his decision.

The mother scarcely provides
Enough so the children survive…
As for she,
P.T.S.D.
As in battle doth thrive!

To many mothers are rattled,
By sickness that they’ve battled…
At work or home
They’re never alone,
Night times are just as addled.

Many autistic children wander
At night or day out yonder…
Parents rarely know
When the kids will go,
A frightening thought to ponder!

Have started form justified motives…
To find ways
For employee’s days,
With autistic kids to be work-devoted.

With traffic his schedule was tight.

It pleased him to think he was missed,
Though he still voiced denial of this…
Since long ago
He’s struggled to know
He has value–as others witness!

But he likes it when she is there,
Her pleasant nature–what she wears…
Sometimes there’s no way
He can come down to “play”,
In that case it’s a life that he bears.
