POET…AFTER (A) FASHION!

He calls himself “fashion poet”,

One or two others know it…

In pursuits

Avoiding lawsuits,

He certainly doesn’t want to blow it!

Him being man and all,

Must carefully judge his call…

With less passion

Than stereotypical fashion,

Not being the Beast at the ball.

Gender matters to him,

Especially if women…

They’re the kind

He most has in mind,

Do they mind if he tiptoes in?

STIR NOT UP LOVE OUT OF ITS TIME

STIR NOT UP LOVE OUT OF ITS TIME!

(Opinion, based upon Song of Songs 2:7)

Song of Solomon two: seven,

Reminding of the right time for heaven…

Out of context

Is frustrating sex,

Add reason to loaves with leaven.

Sing and dance while you’re young,

Older folks, more foolishly done…

Appointed seasons

Make good reasons

Accepting you are also-run!

Pressure without outlet

Just how stupid we get…

Romance out of time

Invites inner grime

When we are told, “NYET!”.

WHY EVEN MENTION IT?

WHY EVEN MENTION IT?

He saw it happening again,

Desiring more than a friend…

Resisting that pull

To pull the wool

Over his eyes and pretend.

At least once a year he goes,

into these attraction throes…

Always one-way

He dare not stay

Too close to a prospective rose.

Happens so often he

Knows eventually…

The “old nature”

Legislature

Votes for a juicy affaire!

“Resistance is futile,” some say,

But rather just walk away…

Run if you must

From growing lust,

Be true to your beloved night and day.

JOANNE LEFT ALONE

JOANNE LEFT ALONE

Joanne was left alone

To run things here at home…

Administration

Is her station,

A paragon of efficiency honed.

Alas, Eric got a call

To be on site after all…

But we’ll enjoy

Her presence (OH, BOY!)

And Eric’s, after the snowfall.

Joanne we certainly trust,

Tender–like well-made pie crust…

Efficiency, caring

(We love what she’s wearing),

Her continuing here is a must!

THE OLD GOAT DIDN’T WIN

THE OLD GOAT DIDN’T WIN

The old goat did not win,

He wanted to see someone slim…

With sex appeal–

It didn’t congeal–

Both girls just ignored him!

He then apologized

When stony silence advised…

They wouldn’t come through

Nor offer him view

Of either set of lovely eyes.

He placated with poetry,

It was little else if not free…

No answer given

Denied heaven

Or whom he was hoping to see!

(At least in my universe,

I contacted an old friend nurse…

Who did reply

With a passed-along “HI”

But the above’s disappointment was worse!)
