IN THE TRANCE OF A BELLY DANCE

IN THE TRANCE OF A BELLY DANCE

Intent on her belly dance,

The crowd of men entranced…

Her hip swing great

Mezmerizing breast shake,

All were feeding from her hands!

The tinkle bells jingled along

As the record player blared a song…

Exotic and sweet

Padding of feet,

Dome wags tried dancing along.

At the end of her show, eyes runny,

Men filled her bra with money…

Not all would stay in,

They made out like Flynn

Their day in the park turned out sunny.

MORE THAN A MERMAID

MORE THAN A MERMAID

(WARNING—ADULT MATERIAL)

As King David had Abishag,*

He wants a warm sleeping bag…

Some young beauty

For personal duty,

Who won’t leave him holding the bag!

He claims that he’ll be good,

Being unable for wood…

Being able to touch

Would mean so much,

Both ways be it understood.

He’s long past suitable age

To have desires uncaged…

His late night scheme

Is but a dream

Which no one will be willingly engaged!

–Jonathan Caswell

*Abishag…a beautiful young woman selected to provide personal care to the aging King David and to keep him warm at night,  Reportedly, he and she were not intimate with each other.  1st Kings 1:1-4.

SIMPLE SEWING SAYS

SIMPLE SEWING SAYS

My wife often will say

She’d make that dress right away…

If her sewing machine

Were set up, she means,

And I’ll softly “okay.”

I seem inadequate

Her wishes to do and get…

Things ready for her

to begin the whir

And start in with a project.

I wish someone else would come,

Getting the machine to hum…

So she can start

Without this old fart

Continuing to be a bum!

MANY BOOKS…

MANY BOOKS…!

Of many  books there’s no end,

So why publish my friend…

Poem distribution

Via the Word Press institution

Goes world-wide—less spent!

SCHEDULED NAP

SCHEDULED NAP

The coffee’s burbling merrily–

The maker’s aroma good…

I should get back to a nap

Continue sawing wood.

I’ve been up since the crack of dawn

Fingering my keyboard…

I’m stifling a huge yawn,

Today has its reward.

Excuse me while I slip away

For an early-mid morning nap…

It’s a wonder how these early days

Can a poet’s energy sap!

SECRET SINS

SECRET  SINS

Addictions that hide

For which hell’s gates open wide

Cut families off:

What is hidden cannot heal

‘Tis painful when it’s revealed!

MY PRECONCEIVED NOTIONS

MY PRECONCEIVED NOTIONS

He heard I knew one of his

Church members vis-a-vis…

My time in Rehab==

Decided to grab

An invite he knew I’d miss.

My prejudice against him

Are assumptins he thinks I work in…

Or are they true?

Upon review,

Similar to what I hold against him?

His woeking of the Spirit autocratic,

Where no one else better attack it…

I claim an open mind

But when honest find,

Some ideas aren’t automatic!

I think I’m more mature than him,

As a matter of observing, not whim…

A simpler faith

He sticks to it straight,

Pefrforming with an energetic vim1

He and I in our respective “kinds”

Have some poor experience in mind…

Where both were hurt

By the other hair-shirt*,

Which experiences put me in a bind.

I barely get to my own church now,

So I’m expected to go to his somehow…?

Although a change

Might rearrange

An attitude better than now.

HAIR BRAIDING MASTERY

HAIR BRAIDING MASTERY

Ukrainian girl next door

Would braid her blonde hair for…

Special occasions

And various reasons,

Her braids easy to adore.

My wife tried to teach me basics,

I know I’m not the greatest…

Can’t keep them tight

To come out right,

I’m no good–I just better face it!

MONTH OF MAY PLEASURES

MONTH OF MAY PLEASURES

Last night I spied a deer

Up the driveway, not near,

Roaming the grounds,

Looked me up and down

And went off without fear!

Lilac flower’s perfume

My nostrils gladly consume…

Delicate breeze

Without a sneeze,

Morning, night and afternoon
