H.A.L.T. IN THE NAME OF LOVE!

H.A.L.T. IN THE NAME OF LOVE!

Christian men, too, need helps,*

On occasion to not act like whelps…

With that wolfish grin

Suddenly slipping in,

To actions and thoughts beyond help.

This Poet and others of this Age,

Face constant barrage on stage…

A system to tell

When we don’t function well,

When our wisdom is not that of a sage.

(Some would claim…that is most of the time!)

Hungry, Angered, Lonely and Tiredness

Factors in  decision-making to address…

If one or more rate high

It should warn that guy,

That it’s time to avoid sinfulness!

Twelve-step programs have this too,

Didn’t know it–never got that far through…

Before was thrust out,

It’s the timing, no doubt,

To be ready to learn something new.

Now please don’t have fear–me toward,

I am no monster unrestored…

It has been my concern

To lessen “heart burn”,

Better wielding of the HOLY SPIRIT’s Sword.

* As part of a continuing process toward maturity and God’s glory, for me!

NO PARKING SPACES!

NO PARKING SPACES!

Came home from work last night,

Something wasn’t right…

No resident spaces

Open, nor traces

Of any spaces in sight.

Whenever there’s a big storm,

Somebody makes my blood too warm…

I’ll gladly park

Anywhere near the ark,

If only I could, this morn!

Someone did it again,

A nonresident came in…

It’s really a pain

This happened again,

Don’t I have a right to come in?

WHEN EMOTIONS CANNOT SHOW…

WHEN EMOTIONS CANNOT SHOW…

When he was younger in times like these,

Emotion wasn’t allowed…

Truth is that he often stayed on his knees

And by his elders was cowed.

He’d daydream emotional stories at night,

Got in trouble for not enough sleep….

Wasn’t allowed to have anger in sight

But could, in bed, have a weep.

Recently things have come to a fore,

Giving up crutches again…

Started daydreaming for solace once more

Feeling like he’d lost a friend.

He’s not given up praying to his God,

Still finds the grace to push on…

Struggling to take proper care of himself

‘Til his bright raiment is on!
