BIRD SONG

BIRD SONG

Mourning dove,mourning dove–

How are you today…

Your gentle cry I happened by,

You sound so far away!

Mourning dove, mourning dove….

How do you fare…

Have you made a goodly nest,

Surviving young with care?

Mourning dove, mourning dove…

The winter draweth near…

Many bird soon go south,

Will you be lodging here?

“THRUSHED” INTO ACTION

“THRUSHED” INTO ACTION

Bird song starts at four AM,

He goes back to sleep again…

Birdies outside

Have eyes open wide

But the pillow is this guy’s friend.

PUFFBALLS ON THE GAZEBO

PUFFBALLS ON THE GAZEBO

Several swollen puff-balls

Upon the gazebo roof…

A couple of birds fly to the ground,

Trying to stay aloof.

One poor robin in the drive

Wond’ring where the grass has gone…

Hopping in salty mud,

Does winter last this long?

Singing to keep warm they are,

Waiting for the ground to clear…

It’s confusing–all this snow–

Gets worse every year!
