A FRIEND’S CONCERN

A FRIEND’S CONCERN

My friend, Karen, said to me,

Why do you frown sadly…

I didn’t know

My consternation showed,

BUT–apparently!

I was puzzled by the cards in  her teeth

Which she took out to speak…

Move eyebrows a tad

And I must look sad,

To know I’m really not…is relief!

Unusual  ’cause she rarely speaks,

Just smiles as out she streaks…

Tis a pleasure to know

I’m remembered so,

Because of my facial mystique!

THE LONG WALK

THE LONG WALK

Unlike “THE LONG RIDE” movie,*

Where James Arness’ acting is moving…

This situation

Of consternation

Is rather less groovy!

The Long Walk alluded,

Hopefully will be soon concluded…

Reconstruction inside

Lengthens the stride,

The timing of which must be prudent.

Alas, the nearest mens’ room,

Is blocked off for now (sudden gloom)…

Getting relief

Is not so brief

Even for just a hair groom!

IT’S ALL IN THE TRANSLATION!

IT’S ALL IN THE TRANSLATION!

A moment of consternation,

Or was it a poor translation…

A poem about “Pie”

She said, “nice tie!”

So much for my imagination!

AN INTIMATE PRICE

AN INTIMATE PRICE

Six month’s of frustration,

Brought out by early certification…

Holding a grudge

That wouldn’t budge,

Then opened to the wife’s consternation.

We had no receipts to declare,

Of the lateness we were unaware…

No time to collect,

Organize and select

This year it’s all up in the air.

Over The Counter expenses spent

Could be totalled and reducing the rent…

Being caught flat

With no proof of that,

Was part of my seething “resent”.

Anger brought into the open,

My wife was fervently hoping…

That I could forgive

Her part in the tiff,

Also blaming myself and moping.

Praise to God, I could,

For give her and me to the good…

Sitting so long

On feelings that strong

Is a practice that nobody should!

And now we’re reconciled,

‘Tis easy for me to be beguiled…

Not remembering that she

Can’t see as well as me,

To live with her with understanding* takes style.

* 1st Peter 3:7

FROM TWO—ONE.

FROM TWO—ONE.

Today…recertification,

Our yearly education…

Someday we’ll be bright

And get it all right,

Not having mutual consternation.

We didn’t have the right forms,

It turned out a can of worms…

Irena printed

The stuff hinted

That we’d lost somewhere in storms*

I was able to, on the run,

Find the things to get the job done…

Between us two

My wife and I do

Manage when under the gun!

For what it is worth, we’re a team,

Together we’ve answered our dreams…

Not always as wished

But enough dished

Out to see God’s love streams.

* storms…as in falling paper piles?  😦

POOR MARTY CAT!!!

POOR MARTY CAT!!!

Marty Cat staring

From his window sill,

Watching birds flying

To and fro at will…

Up I spoke and

Broke his concentration,

Left he from his perch

In total consternation!
