Lenten sacrifice

Heralds Christ

After Good Friday’s awful business!

Joyful Easter morning:

A controlled sort of horning…

Death paid

For Christ laid

And risen beyond mourning!

–

New life means new dresses,

Boys told–stay out of messes…

Going to hear

At least once a year,

Exciting special messages.

–

Why then—we’ll eat,

Dinner and a treat…

Hard to say

Why adults don’t play

On a day that tastes so sweet!
