LO–IN THE NIGHT WATCHES…!

Looking at flickering screens

Showing no one there…

Finding secure means

Someone must watch there.

No radio breaks silent waves

Of air handler sound…

Occasional peeks from a lab or two

Proves people are around.

What we’re allowed to do…

Keeping watch o’er anything

That danger might construe.

–

A cart appears near this door

For a pizza delivery…

I’ll open the main gate when they come,

Helping the economy!

–

I am full from two burritos,

And several pieces of fruit…

On  my way home the windows lowered

I’ll join the “instant-toot”.
