MID-DECEMBER HAIKU

Below freezing nights,

Houses show their Christmas lights…

Electric socks–feet sweat!

–Jonathan Caswell

POST TIME CHANGE HAIKU

Dusk falls earlier,

Many complain of the dark…

Six months of this left?

–J.E.C.

GLOWERY DAY OKAY

(HAIKU)

Glowery dark skies,

All is bright seeing your eyes…

Flowers surround you!

–J.E.C

(an A-B-C-B RHYME SCHEME)

Glowery is the day,

When I’m not at your side…

Thoughts of you brighten my way

With flowers turning to the Light!

The Light of God we are,

Who follow Christ Jesus Lord…

Living water springs forth

When to Him we open our heart’s door.

Everyday in God’s kingdom

Is like a sunshiny day…

No cloud or rain can disturb us,

Our Lord through shadow…leads the way.

–Jonathan Caswell

(LIMERICK-STYLE)

All glowery it looks out there,

Moisture hanging in air…

Darkness all

 Destined to fall,

On its knees to our Creator fair!

–J.E.C.

(TANKA-STYLE)

Sunshine hid by clouds

Mortals yawn with out-stretched arms

A good soaking rain

Glowery skies  in your eyes

Are worse than having no sun!

–J.E.C.

MAY 13TH HAIKU HOEDOWN!

(NOTE…each Haiku is an entity in itself)

Friday, May thirteenth

No fears bother me then…no…

Just another day.

==J.E.C.

Driving rain all night

Runoff fills up river pools

Natural dirt streams

–J.E.C.

Klutzy people find

Friday, the thirteenth don’t mind

It’s nice company!

HAIKU FOR AN APRIL STORM

Sunday’s promised snow,

Around three inches may blow…

Our chances for sun!

For  some of us here,

Snow shovels in our back seats…

White icing is fine!

Can’t get beans until

We pay our electric bill…

Perhaps…this next week!

Three inches expect,

Icy highways to inspect…

Aftermath:  DISSECT!

–Jonathan Caswell

PRE-CHRISTMAS HAIKU

PRE-CHRISTMAS HAIKU

Christmas shopping lasts

Through Christmas at every sale

Great sales in August!

Hungrier each minute

See a cook pot–what’s in it?

EW–slimy fish  worms!

Green Christmas forecast,

Not time yet for winter blast…

How ’bout white spray paint?

Pickings very thin,

Bonus check  kept them afloat…

Gift lists shorter still!

In America,

Children dream of many things…

How many come true?

Sleigh bells vibrating,

For deep snow they are waiting…

Bicycle wheels on?

No children at all,

Our celebration is small…

Christ comes in the flesh!!!

God to man did come,

Through Mary the bless-ed one…

Defenseless baby!

Wise men followed stars,

Herod’s hatred bore him scars….

Tricked, he killed them all!

Festive parties run

Glitter edifies no one…

Believe and choose God!

When all is silent,

Reflect on Jesus being…

Born to live, then die!

–Jonathan Caswell

HAIR HAIKU

HAIR HAIKU

Redheads are my fave

Those so creative and brave

Glowing in color

The Supervisor

Hair was “bronde” but no wiser

Now knows she’s in style!

Brunettes–married one

Grey and silver in a bun

SPIRITUAL MATE.

I respect all hues

Each one can be real good news!

Good women and men

COMPUTER “UPDATE”

COMPUTER “UPDATE”

(Haiku)

 Unknown updates push

Over edge operator…

Was it a virus?

Serenity gone,

Where did my internet go?

Not getting WI-FI!

Preparing–for WHAT?

Didn’t ask or order this!

Technicians bring peace.

–Jonathan Caswell
