SIGHS FOR THE FUTURE

SIGHS FOR THE FUTURE

Should he or would he cop out?

That answer is in doubt…

If leaving work

Showed him a jerk,

Would he be then shut out?

The doctor’s concern for health

And a particular lack of wealth…

Puts on the table

Him becoming  disabled,

It would apply to himself!

Work is his life as a man,

In a socio-economic plan…

Losing pay–

Home every day–

Seems to him a scam.

Better health care insurance

The doctor thinks better endurance…

Putting things right

With expenses light,

So goes the doctor’s assurance!

FRIDAY THE 13TH…MY LUCKY DAY !

FRIDAY THE 13TH—MY LUCKY DAY

My first full day of freedom,

No medic restrictions in play…

‘Though I’m not much for superstition

I’m lucky and blessed this Friday !

At last–after months–I’m driving,

My job is waiting for me…

I can drop off the income tax forms

And get home by afternoon tea.

The home office wants me to visit

To sign releases and forms…

Get a drug test and wait for the answers,

Out of work this long–that’s the norm!

My health insurance is ending,

My wife’s “S.S.I.” ain’t enough…

I have to get back earning income

‘Cause making ends meet is rough!

FED TO THE WOLVES

FED TO THE WOLVES

(An opinion about U.S. healthcare policy)

I thought we would be okay,

If the hardship hitting others stayed away…

But, no such luck,

We too, got stuck

In the national melee!

It was relatively easy to fix,

Being caught between and betwixt…

Left her on the phone

Getting back her own

Policy that had been nixed.

I grow angrier yet,

How more stupid can it get…

Our national leaders

Think we all are bleeders

For something they ignored to vet!

“Who cares if it don’t work,

“Use it anyway,” the chain jerked…

We’ve all got chain collars

And pay many dollars

For a coffeemaker that won’t perk.

We had a social worker advise

To cut all former ties…

That we HAD TO join in

The vast luny bin,

And then comes the big surprise.

I think we’ll be rectified,

Assuming no more have lied…

To keep what we’ve got,

What’s left in the pot

To pay our bills and survive.

NEW RULES–OLD BRAIN

NEW RULES—OLD BRAIN

Did you hear about working hard,

It’s not what it used to be…

You have to use the system you’re in

To fit in economy.

He didn’t believe his ears

That he should lessen work hours…

To get better health benefits for years,

“Cheating ” with higher powers!

He thought his friend was after

Merely more of his load….

But working hard and paying so much

For so little, WAS getting old.

His street smarts seemed so few,

Yet he knew he was under water….

Already with so little to chew

That to change, he thinks he oughter!

IS IT REALLY “HEALTH” INSURANCE????

IS IT REALLY “HEALTH” INSURANCE????

(Opinion piece)

The current state of U.S. healthcare,

Is something of which to be aware…

A lot of frustration

 For administration,

That doesn’t really seem to care.

Deductibles are fashioning,

A brutal form of rationing…

With premiums high

Some prefer to die,

Than deal with debt-service “machining”.

High premiums taken from checks,

With high water up to the necks…

Not many can pay

Their debt away,

The socialist goal…one suspects!

With costs going higher and higher,

Our premiums pull us into fire…

With payment write-offs

And limiting costs

We’ll never hit the deductible’s spire.

With Obama’s health tax going through,

Medicines have deductibles, too…

What once cost some

Has been overrun,

While income goes through the floor.

Want to know the thing that irks,

Union and non-union in the works…

Those two health plans

Make it clear who stands,

And where special privilege lurks.

Isn’t hard to get the clue,

Obama made it easier to do…

Take dues from your pay,

Vote a certain way

And you can be privileged, too!

MEDICAL THINGS

MEDICAL THINGS

(Adult Subject Matter)

The problem with a medical thing

Is that it must be tried…

Except for certain exceptions,

Major funds oft must be supplied.

Certain men’s problems that will be unnamed,

‘Though the commercials are all around…

May require first buying the thing

Before finding out if it’s sound.

Alas, unless as a special case,

Or health insurance will pay…

One cannot obtain a mere practice run

Without throwing money away?
