GRIZZLY WHOM?

GRIZZLY WHOM?

Discontent to stay at Madame’s,

He rambled on various macadams…

Unshaven in church

On a pew he’d perch,

They called him Grizzly Adams!*

–Jonathan Caswell

* Grizzly Adams…no relation to that famous character, other than in appearance!

HEALTHY SIGNS

HEALTHY SIGNS

Counseling’s started for him,

His attitude isn’t as grim…

His wife noticed

He’s eating less lotus,

And starting even to grin!

He went on Sunday to church,

While greeting began to search…

For the first time insisting

Certain women unresisting

To give HIM a hug first!

Put his arm around one to ask,

Spread arms wide for the other’s task…

It felt good to be

Acting so free

Away from stress’ grasp!

HIS BLESSING CAME THROUGH

HIS BLESSING CAME THROUGH

We really found a hassle

And I was feeling blue…

Eating our last morsel,

When His blessing came through!

The bank was getting nervous,

I surely was too…

We had no way forward

When His blessings came through!

I found someone in church who had

Experienced this before…

Come to the brink of an abyss,

Miraculously restored.

It’s good to know some businesses care

And that our Lord is true…

We got our money back just in time,

When the Lord God’s blessing came through!

A DRIVE-THROUGH ASH WEDNESDAY???

A DRIVE-THROUGH ASH WEDNESDAY???

(A Christian opinion)

Today a radio wag

Came up with a new form of gag…

But the gag seems true,

Ash Wednesday Drive-through—

The latest spiritual sag?

Said the wag, no reason for God,

To get in the way of the odd…

Why go into church

For spiritual search,

When you can do it like a hamburger’s chawed?

Doing ritual won’t save

A single fast-food style knave…

If they can’t take time

To with God align,

They’d be better off at a Fat Tuesday rave!

SPEAKING ABOUT….

….LINES IN THE SAND!!!

This weekend he understood

Drawing lines in the sand was good…

Beyond which to stop,

Be your own traffic cop

Choosing to do what Christ would.

Isolated for much of the week,

He looks forward to a peek….

At any specimen

Of living woman,

The view is his personal treat.

He sometimes daydreams

Concocting romantic schemes…

For women he’s seen,

It’s all just a dream

For which he has not the means!

He’s learned the hard way that

It depends on where he’s at…

In amongst church and friends

The daydreaming ends,

And that is the end of that.

Daydreaming done with little care,

Can end up a mental affaire…

Which Christ said clearly

Could not be,

Looking with lust over there!

The man is learning his lesson,

Standing his ground for  blessing…

Be a blessing not a curse

Or lose his God first

With women other than his, don’t be messing.
