GOODBYE TWINKIE THE KID

GOODBYE TWINKIE THE KID

Hostess is bankrupt again,

Administration thought they had friends…

“Loyal” employees

To whom they said please,

Could you help us get above water again?

But union bosses said, not this time,

We think you’re hiding a gold mine…

We can endure a strike

So do what you’d like,

You wouldn’t dare shut down this time.

Alas, that’s just what happened,

Thanksgiving for thousands were flattened…

The comp’ny couldn’t survive

So why stay alive,

So union boss wallets are fattened?

Will union fat cats support

The Thousands who held their fort…

Or will the little guys fend

For themselves again,

While the fat cats take the owners to court?

So goodbye, Twinkie the Kid,

You were great for the product and did…

What unions refused,

Your expense was well-used

Greedy unions just closed down your lid.

THE BIG RUN-AROUND

THE BIG RUN-AROUND

We’re not talking political here,

Though we get enough of that…

I’m referring to a turn-around

Upon a railroad track.

The line of covered hopper cars

Being run-around will be,

Left to serve the needs of

A local industry.

It may be grain or cement

Or plastic pellets, too…

Whatever it takes for New England

Industry to make it through.
