False humility is bad
When one’s complimented a tad…
Coming from a peer
The thought is sincere,
Denying would make me a cad!

It’s great hyperbole,
Such praise glorifies me…
In turn I
Point to the sky,
Credit goes to God Almighty!

Are “tools” justifiably proud,
Then they’d better not say it too loud…
The quality
Of my poetry,
Valued by a peer makes me proud!

UP TO SPEED!

When I was growing up,
In Junior High School,
The melody was played for us–
The was the Choral rule.

Then we tried a modern song
A piece of soft rock…
It didn’t have a melody,
Our cushy life had stopped!

Our Director eased us into
Choral modernity…
With greater appreciation
For the modern music scene.

Concern for “detritus slippitis”…
Dead leaves on the ground
Are slippery when found,
Falling finds the ground right beside us!

EVENING SOLITUDE

Took a break with James Taylor for a guide,
Found him on You Tube, took his album for a ride…
Ate my supper in the quietness
Quiet time with James is probably the best.

Such a small name

Both had drama to try…
“Oscar” in high school
Showed me an acting fool,
Being full-time, I didn’t try.

I had me a book manuscript nearly ( ? ) completed…and suddenly decided not to publish, at least not at that publisher, as nice as the new staff . Maybe I will send it to them but not just now.

SO…on this blog, BY THE MIGHTY MUMFORD and my other blog, THE MARVELOUS MUMFORD–and maybe some teasers at OUR POETRY CORNER–I’ll be posting poetry from the alleged book until I figure out where and how to formally publish it–if at all. 🙂

THE BOOK…is about my recent experience over the last six months or so, damaging, ignoring, losing two toes on my right foot by amputation, rehab. and recovery. The basic premise–with other observations added–is to look at how difficult doctors, caretakers and such like me ( ! ) make such terrible patients, when it’s our turn to be cared for!
–
