A mouse in a thimble he saw
On a fine lady of awe…
He noticed the pin
On the sweater she was in,
Complimenting her for the pin he saw!

Came home from work and shopping,
Other than that–no reason for stopping…
some “Brown ans Serve”
He’s nibbling (the nerve!),
and gobbled all up in the offing!

Bewitching hour nears,
I don’t have any fears…
Except that warning
Have to rise Sunday morning
Before my nurse appears!

Rainy last night long and loud,
Clearing today still much cloud…
Woke up to
Friends who are new,
Boy, this Poet feels proud!

The old-time poet towers
Over we with lesser powers…
Taking days
To turn a phrase,
That heritage on us showers.
–
Rhyme schemes with two or three points
Of focus their greatness anoints…
My simple schtick
With limerick,
Is good in the seedier of joints.
–
Not that I don’t have class,
But in poetic fame, they’ve way past…
Old books in stores
That have seen two, three wars,
Will be all our fates at the last!

WRITE BEFORE BREAKFAST
–
Writing done any time,
Take every opportunity to rhyme…
One at least
Before morning’s feast,
The day will turn out more sublime!

Guided meditation seems fine,
If I could find the time…
With no progress
Alleviating stress,
I’m hung out on the line!

Walked down the long hall tonight
Till the coffee machine’s in sight…
What a dreamer–
There’s no creamer–
Black espresso’s alright!

Pray and think about them,
The ones affected by storm…
Losing homes
Collections of tomes,
Will Compassion’s cloak be thrown out weary and unborn?

For snacking tasting amazing,
Add peanut butter to raisins…
Other dried fruit
Would be a hoot,
In small bits  for swallowing safely!
