Darkness moves quickly,

Enveloping our evening…

Dark and cold arrive.

Favorite desk chairs,

Alternate when they’re needed…

Smooth rolling’s fun!

We “have” sprinkler room,

The other side of a wall…

Normally locked tight!

Enough to pay bills?

Struggling now to pay them down…

Can we survive long?

Moaning wind in trees,

Howling wolves attack weak does,

Resourceful nature.

Loneliness of man’

Searches for the eternal…

Arms of a woman!

–Jonathan Caswell

Hunger, Anger, loneliness and exhaustion,

Wheedling the guard of the bastion…

Into opening gates,

For thin-ice skates

Throwing away the drawstrings of caution!

Loneliness, Tiredness–both–

Wearing down adherence to oath…

Got to stay strong,

Keep moving along,

Avoiding the slitting of throat.

–Jonathan Caswell

Kitty kat lovers unite,

You have some help in your fight…

Against loneliness

Someone to caress,

As long as the cat doesn’t bite.

An either/or custody

Arrangement is fine with me…

If I were looking

For a cat-lover booking,

Then I could go there and see!

The site really does exist,

But it’s too late for me to be kissed…

By another cat lover

Or not any other

Than the one that I have “un-missed”!

–Jonathan Caswell
