Papa, tell us a story,
About our family’s glory…
Exciting tales
Of life in Wales,
Did we back then own a dory?
–
Momma, tell of your side,
That clipper ship was quite a ride…
A cabin boy
In ship’s employ,
Did he sail up the Clyde?
–
Which relatives we’ll visit,
How can we stay just a minute…
Some are so old
They’d catch a cold
If they were somebody’s tenant?
–
They want to serve some tea,
If I agree–what’s the matter with me…
They’re being kind
Aren’t we blind
To deny hospitality?
–
Some stories you never told,
We search them out growing old…
Family hurts
And losing of shirts,
No wonder some people act cold!
