MOVING SPIKE-BY-SPIKE
–
Spike-by-spike track moves forward,
Tie-by-tie covering land…
Commerce miniature shaping progress,
Focussed on each task at hand.
–
N scale track fits in places
Thought impossible before…
Problem-solving special cases
Suddenly end a war.
–
Challenges are remeasured,
Answers spring up after years…
Of discouraged gandy dancers
Saying, “Should we put track here?”
–
Certain tracks convoluted,
Are snaked out of many knots…
A spaghetti layout substituted
With a track plan having open spots!
–
Nail or gluing down by spot tack,
Ensures things won’t hit the floor…
As designers fix a problem
Cracks in bench work–nothing more!
–
Decided to go for a turntable,
Switching ends is lots of fun…
Plus the matterĀ of train couplers
Certain engines not in front.
–
Up- or downstream is the question,
When portraying waterfalls…
It’s confused with flexible planning–
Which end up when nature calls?
–
Fictional, yet firmly planted
In the villages near home…
‘Though they never had a railroad
They’ll be blessed by boiler foam.
–
N scale progress sure and steady
After years of certain doubt…
Soon we hope it will be ready
For this railroad’s “coming out”!!!
