PLEASURE—I’M NOT OWED!

It’s tempting to seek out pleasure,

Of lesser and greater measure…

He feels he’s owed

A rather big load,

Because of minimized treasure!

Once he gets into a groove,

His mind then will not move…

In the trough

Can’t cool off,

Keeps hoping that enough will soothe.

Every challenge in life,

Disability, circumstance or wife…

Is part of the sceam–

To sometimes scream–

No one is exempt in life!

Pumped mind full of pleasure

And other thoughts don’t register…

Hardly thought clear

Or see to steer,

Worse than a partying Senator!

ROMANS 1: 18-32…FULFILLED!

The hedonists chortle with glee,

This “Romans” book’s reality…

“Natural use”

Is women abuse,

 Selfishness becomes the key!

THE PERSON EASILY BORED

THE PERSON EASILY BORED

A person with interests untoward,

Is often easily bored…

Opportunity of feeling

Emotions revealing,

They want extra voltage on board.

Life—good but dull–

Enlivened by an exciting pull…

But interest over time

Begins to decline,

They yearn another fantasy cull.

Being caught or forced to stop,

Resentment builds toward the “cop”…

Enforcing rules

Taking away jewels,

Before lost in one more pop!

Addictive behavior indeed,

Selfishness and greed…

Deep-sited

Unrequited

Bondage that would be freed.

Made in the image of God,

Corrupted, unstable and flawed…

Enigma that sings

Collecting things,

Experiences pure and bawd.

PLACE BLAME….by Carl Gooch

Place Blame

See how our gold grows dim,
How our treasure has failed.
You have torn down our temples,
The holy ones we have jailed.

The priest bringing the truth,
Worth their weight in purest gold,
Are discarded and turned away.
We not learned the lessons of old.

The wild animals feed their young,
And watch over them as they grow.
But our hungry children grow weak,
They suffer for what they do not know.

The innocent ones have been denied;
From thirst their mouths are dry,
In the streets they beg for food,
But are past by, no one hears their cry.

Is this the way of our world today?
Tell me where is our moral outrage?
We are so quick to place blame,
That we fail to see we set the stage.
