Pasta and sauce for supper,
Mostly Chef Boy-ar-dee…
Mixed with rotini this supper
Is enough to satisfy me.
–
A grilled cheese sandwich and peanut butter,
‘Though the peanut is nearly gone…
The heart barely flutters
From the fat and salt it carries on!
–
Maybe when home, ice cream,
Can help to sweeten the day…
And one of my wife’s kisses
Before in exhaustion I sleep away.

SUPPER AT THE GUARD SHACK
–
Friday supper at the guard shack,
We’ll start with a “TURKEY BITES” snack…
Only two had mold–
Barely two weeks old,–
It’s too late to throw them back!
–
Main course is from CHEF BOY-AR-DEE,
Spaghetti and Meatballs for me…
Protect the white shirt
Or tomato sauce “blurt”
Will ruin it needlessly.
–
Cold coffee is almost gone,
It’s a hike to put fresh on…
Can fill up on water,
That’s what I “oughter”
It’ll make the supper more healthy!

I WANTED SHEPHERDS PIE
Allowed myself a hunch,
Shepherds pie for lunch…
But it wasn’t there
So what did I care,
I can eat lasagna in a crunch!
–
But in the evening, the kitchen guy,
Had saved us some shepherds pie…
Enough for two,
This supper will do
As good fortune on the fly!

EATING DIFFERENTLY
While people morn, this life must go on,
Tony brought me humus and crackers to feast upon…
Chickpeas ground with garlic
Is supper tonight,
Have a head of broccoli
For a going-home snack just right…
Eating healthy
Will help me feel okay,
Thank you, Lord, for Tony
And friends to show the way!
