Children of God
See what great love the Father has lavished on us,
That we should be called children of God!
And that is what we are!
The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.
(1 John 3:1 NIV)
 
Blessed are we the children of the Most High!
We need not hang our heads in shame and cry.
Our Father, who created heaven and earth,
Has called us to be His and has given us worth.
 
The life we live is not our own, but by His grace.
He provides for our needs in this wicked place.
He gives us rest and peace in His loving arms,
Protecting us from the evils that brings harm.
 
His word is the way; the light of truth in our life.
His love given us strength to face the strife.
We’re on a journey, ever forward, passing through.
This world’s not our home; we seek the one that’s true.
 
We are strangers in this land. This world knows us not.
They traded the true God for a lie, and a lie they got.
They are blind to the truth and ruled by the father of lies.
Their minds are clouded for God’s way they despise.
 
But blessed are we the children of the Most High!
He was swift to come to our rescue; He heard our cry.
We are created by the Father, Saved by the Son,
Lead by the Spirit, three in one.
