I watched as you struggled to grow,
And there is one thing I want you to know.
Your daddy is proud of you…
Yes, your daddy is proud of you.

I remember when you were young,
You’d run and laugh just having fun.
And I made sure no harm came to you.
And yes, I was proud of you.

Oh, my love for you has always been;
I laughed at the funny stuff you got in.
But through it all the good and bad;
Your daddy was proud of you.

There was a time you loved to argue,
I guess it was a faze teen’s go through.
And even though I would not say it,
Your daddy was proud of you.

I see the person you’ve come to be,
And it fills my heart with glee.
Life is so much better because of you.
