I FEEL EMPATHY WITH THIS ONE—I HAVE CATARACTS.
The Covid second wave has literally devastated India and there seems to be no immediate respite. Unlike the first wave, the ongoing second wave has categorically impacted the crucial age bracket of 30 – 45 Yrs. Many of the deceased had been the single earning member, shouldering major bank loans, instalments, mortgages, single child to aged parents, newly married and or with very young kids. As the fatality counts are expected to shoot upto a few millions, these tragic and untimely deaths have left behind unimaginable scars and a dark uncertain future for the survivors. On the other hand, business and trade has come to a screeching halt, severely impacting salaries and cash flows across all strata of society.To further escalate the situation, the country faces a dire crisis of emergency oxygen supplies, vaccines, critical life-saving medicines and hospital facilities.
